Obviously I am not going to give out my entire life story over the
internet, but the following contains the basics:
My full name is Jeffrey Frederick Collins and I was born in Ancaster,
Ontario on September 1st, 1963. My parents, Jim and Audrey, still live
in Ancaster, but the rest of my family is scattered throughout Southern
Ontario. I have 3 older brothers (Rick, Steph and Brian) as well as 2
sisters-in-law (Penny and Sue). I also have two nephews (Al and Ted) and
a niece (Ann-Marie). They are quite a fun bunch and I consider myself
pretty lucky to have them as my family. I try to spend as much time as
possible with them, but unfortunately that can be tough when you are on
the road as much as I am throughout the year. They are all very
supportive of my career though and seem to understand.
While my family may live in Ontario, I call Nova Scotia home. I moved
here in 1983 and fell in love with the place. A few years back I bought a
home in the country with a lake for a front yard and a forest out the
back. I'm close enough to the ocean that you can hear the waves at night
while sitting on the deck looking up at the stars. Being in a business
where I am surrounded by people all day, this makes the perfect little
refuge for me when I get some time off. I share the place with my 2
parrots and yes they do talk. Too much in fact! Panama is a Blue and Gold Macaw and
Charley is an Alexandrine Ringneck. They are a lot of fun and
keep me company when I am home alone. It's truly the country life and I love it!
As for my personal life... I was married, but like so many these days, it
didn't work out. I have been divorced since 1990. I have no kids, but look forward to having a family some
day. As for hobbies: I rent a lot of movies, watch very little TV and
spend far too much time playing with my computer. I also shoot a lot of pool these
days with my friends. Overall I lead a fairly boring life. There is so much noise and
commotion around me when I am working that I really appreciate the quiet existence I have
at home.
